Faded Edges Graphics |
Choose and open the graphic you want to work with. 1. With the lassoo tool, select an area around the graphic, something like below (don't go too near the edges).
2. Click on Selections/Modify/Feather a box will come up set the amount to 18px.
3. Open a new image 1024px wide by whatever high 4. Click on Edit/Paste as new layer. You'll see that the edges are faded out. If the feathering has reached the sides of your graphic, either go back and make a smaller original selection, or gently 'smudge' out the edges using the 'Retouch' tool set to Smudge, 45 round. 5. With the eye dropper, take a colour from the backgound of the graphic. Use the Bucket tool to flood fill the background layer, set the opacity at 20% and flood fill a couple of times, till you get the colour you want. 6. Click on Colours/Adjust/Gamma Correction, and lighten the graphic a little (layer one ONLY). Make sure that the linked box is checked in the gamma correction box.
7. Apply a filter to the background layer ONLY, to give the background a bit of interest. 8. Click on Layers/Merge All (flatten) 9. With the rectangle selection tool, select the area which will become your background stationery. 10. Add texture to the two layers, there is a download available for the Texturiser filter on my help page. 11. Click on Image/Crop to Selection and save as a JPG.
